The #WEBACKOUTSIDE Edition
Since 2018, the WOKE Entrepreneur Summit has created a unique event experience for African American entrepreneurs aged 21-45. As an "entrepreneurship conference for the culture", each year we've brought together over 300 of Chicago's top Millennial entrepreneurs, Xennial entrepreneurs, and seasoned business leaders for a day of learning, networking, and celebration. Each conference has been amazing and 2022 will not disappoint!
Our last summit was our Covid Clapback where we vowed not to let COVID take us down, but this year WE BACK OUTSIDE and we’re telling everybody (que Beyonce)! This year, we are going to show you how we pivoted our businesses, how we continue to grow our ventures post-COVID and how so much has changed. With the “Great Resignation” having happened, we have seen thousands of new businesses bring their ideas to market and we are here for it! This year's #WOKESUMMIT will focus on doing business in a Post-COVID world, how that has changed our business practices and how we told COVID (and dead end jobs) that “You Won’t Break My Soul!” Consider this year's WOKESUMMIT the #WEBACKOUTSIDE edition.
The Lit Experience
Remember, we call it "An Entrepreneurship Conference for the Culture" for a reason! The event experience will combine elements of pop culture (i.e. trap music in the digital Lituation Room) and deep insight from subject matter experts within the demographic to create an impactful experience unique to African American Millennials and Xennials looking to launch a new venture or to expand their existing one. Our vendors and partners will be on deck so don’t forget to check them out too because Black Businesses Matter!
Get your business pitch together and won some money! Three businesses will be chosen to participate and will have 3 minutes to give judges their best business pitch. Apply here
This year we are honored to announce the Chicago Urban League’s IMPACT Class of 2023 at our end of event cocktail reception! Come out and meet and mingle with Chicago’s next class of movers and shakers, and have a cocktail – or two – sponsored by Molson Coors in the Lit Lounge!
Suits and formal attire are still discouraged because you can’t properly dance in a button down and uncomfortable shoes. Hope to see you there.
